Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is among the secondary principles of religion and is understood from the teachings of the Qur'an and the Prophetic tradition and the Imams (AS) and form one of the main foundations of Shiite thought. Many books and treatises have been written about this issue. Orientalists have also discussed Islamic verses and beliefs since the 12th century AD .in the contemporary era, with the emergence of new conditions such as scientism, the approach of Orientalists has become scientific and effective. One of these orientalists, who in recent years has written a book entitled "Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil in Islamic thought" is Michael Cook. He is of the opinion that in the books of Shiite hadith sources, there are only twenty hadiths on the subject of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil in the four Shiite sources; Half of these hadiths contain advice without ideological content, and these hadiths emphasize the importance of forbidding denial and its decline in the future. In the present article criticizing this view, by following the Shiite hadith sources, many hadiths can be obtained about the famous commandment and the prohibition of denial and the effects of doing or leaving it.This research with the descriptive-analytical method and the data has been collected through the library and digital resources.
