Abstract
-Abstract

Investigating the issue of gender from a civilizational perspective is one of the new approaches in Quranic studies. Men and women, as fundamental elements of Islamic civilization, have a position based on their common human nature in social responsibilities, and at the same time, they play distinct roles. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method, deals with a civilizational explanation of the issue of gender from the perspective of the contemporary commentator Allamah Muhammad Hussein Fazlullah and seeks to answer the question of what is Allamah Fazlullah's civilizational understanding of the issue of gender in the interpretation of Quranic verses and at what horizon can it be explained and described? The findings of the study show that a civilizational rereading of the verses and interpretative traditions can lead to a better understanding of the position of gender in Islamic civilization. Allama Fazlullah, while providing a social and educational interpretation, has expressed precise civilizational readings on the issue of gender and has placed great emphasis on the civilizational principles of dignity, justice-centeredness, and responsibility in the family institution.
