Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

  • Journal of Qur'an, Culture and Civilization uses double-blind peer review to review manuscripts, so the reviewers do not know the author's identity or vice versa.
  • The reviewers must review the article within the specified time and based on the publication's policies and guidelines.
  • At least two expert reviewers in the relevant subject area evaluate each article.

From the moment the article is received on the website until it is published, the paper will go through different stages in the following order:

 


Peer Review Process

A- The initial review stage

At this stage, the articles that have the appropriate format based on the "Guideline for the preparation of articles" are reviewed by the editor. If they have appropriate scientific content and are consistent with the thematic axes of the publication, they are initially approved and directed to The review is sent to the specialized secretary or the members of the editorial board of the publication. At this stage, the editorial board will select two suitable referees. This step usually takes between 7 and 10 working days.

 

B- The Review stage

The articles approved in the previous stage are sent to at least two reviewers with opinions on the article's subject. After the review, articles are divided into one of three categories according to the outcome of the review:

  1. Articles that need no revision and can be published as they are;
  2. Articles that can be published after revisions based on reviewer's comments;
  3. Articles that are rejected.

The first category articles will be published immediately after the acceptance and publishing fee is paid. The second category will be sent to the article's main author to get revised according to the reviewer's comments and rejected articles will be removed from the review process while informing the author of the article. This stage usually takes 1 to 3 months.

 

C- The Revision stage

At this stage, the author or authors of the article must make revisions based on the reviews within a maximum of 15 days from the date of receiving the article or explain their reasons for not needing revisions through the journal website. An article may need to be revised two or three times before its content is deemed acceptable by the journal editors. After the revisions are approved by the editors, the article is referred to the author for payment of admission and publication fee.

 

D- The final acceptance stage

After revising the article based on the reviewer's comments or providing sufficient reasons for not needing revisions and paying the admission and publication fee, the article will be put in the publication queue, and a written letter about the final acceptance and publication of the article will be sent to the author.
