Editor’s Introduction Qur’an, Civilization and Culture Journal

The new issue of the Qur’an, Civilization and Culture journal is presented at a time when, by divine grace, the journal after undergoing comprehensive academic evaluation and monitoring has successfully attained a higher level of scholarly accreditation and has been promoted to Grade A. This promotion is not merely an administrative achievement; rather, it signifies that the academic direction of the journal—its content quality, the coherence of its scholarly policies, and its adherence to rigorous methodological standards—has been recognized and approved by the academic and seminary scholarly communities. Such an accomplishment invites us to reflect anew on the journal’s core mission and to redefine its academic responsibilities.Since its establishment, Qur’an, Civilization and Culture has pursued a clear mission:to link the epistemic capacities of the Holy Qur’an with civilizational, cultural, and contemporary humanities studies, and to provide a platform for interdisciplinary research within the Islamic world. Based on this mission, the journal has endeavored to continue its successful previous path through an analytical, civilization-oriented, and culture-centered approach to understanding the Qur’an and Islamic heritage. Now, with the journal’s academic promotion, this mission has acquired new dimensions and placed broader expectations upon us.The social, cultural, and intellectual transformations of the Islamic world in recent decades have highlighted, more than ever, the necessity of revisiting the Qur’an’s relationship with key domains such as identity, ethics, social structures, civilizational transformation, cultural studies, and even emerging issues of the modern world. Questions such as:What is the Qur’an’s role in shaping civilizational rationality? How can the teachings of revelation be connected to the realities and demands of the contemporary world? What is the Qur’an’s function in the spiritual and moral reconstruction of Muslim societies in the age of globalization? How can meaningful scholarly dialogue be fostered between Qur’anic studies and the human sciences?lie at the heart of the renewed mission of Qur’an, Civilization and Culture, alongside its previous objectives. From the outset, the journal has sought to publish research that not only holds strong academic merit, but also offers new insights into the relationship between the Qur’an and the culture, history, and lived realities of Muslim societies.Naturally, the journal’s academic advancement brings new responsibilities. Accordingly, in its new phase the journal seeks to further strengthen its scholarly orientation through the following focuses:Enhancing interdisciplinary approaches and welcoming works that examine the Qur’an in relation to social sciences, history, philosophy, civilizational studies, cultural studies, and linguistics;Expanding civilizational research with the aim of understanding the Qur’an’s role in shaping the epistemic, social, and cultural structures of Islamic civilization;Promoting problem-oriented and innovative research that responds to contemporary needs and intellectual challenges of Muslim societies;Raising scholarly standards in the peer-review process by engaging distinguished experts and adopting rigorous methodological criteria;Developing national and international scholarly collaborations to strengthen the journal’s standing within the region and the broader Islamic world;Prioritizing scientific rigor and originality, and preventing the publication of repetitive or non-innovative studies.Today, Qur’an, Civilization and Culture stands at a point where it can become a credible academic reference in the domain linking Qur’anic studies with the humanities and Islamic civilization. The publication of thematic issues, collaboration with domestic and international research institutions, and the enhancement of editorial and citation standards are among our forthcoming initiatives. In closing, I sincerely congratulate our authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the academic community on this scientific achievement. I hope this success marks the beginning of a new period of scholarly vitality and greater flourishing for the journal, and that, through collective effort, we may continue—with even greater strength—the path of expanding knowledge in the fields of the Qur’an, civilization, and culture.Mohammad Ali chelo8ngarEditor-in-ChiefQur’an, Civilization and Culture Journal

Artistic Resonances Between Sayyid Quṭb’s Qur’anic Theory of Imagery and the Safavid Miʿrāj Miniature of Sulṭān-Muḥammad

The Miʿrāj, as one of the most concise yet profound events in Islamic sacred history and explicitly alluded to in the Qur’an, has long attracted the attention of scholars and artists. One of the most remarkable visual representations of this transcendent event is the Miʿrāj miniature attributed to Sulṭān-Muḥammad, the distinguished painter of the Safavid era. This descriptive-analytical article is framed by Sayyid Quṭb’s Qur’anic theory of artistic imagery. Drawing on documentary (library-based) sources, the study first outlines the components of Quṭb’s theory and interprets them in relation to the Qur’anic verses narrating the Miʿrāj. It then analyzes how these principles correspond to the artistic characteristics of Safavid Persian miniature painting, with particular emphasis on Sulṭān-Muḥammad’s Miʿrāj composition. The findings show that in the Safavid period, Qur’anic themes within Persian miniature painting reached a level of refinement that resonates with the artistic standards of Qur’anic imagery formulated by Sayyid Quṭb. The mode of visual representation emerges as the key point of convergence and the foundational artistic mechanism through which both domains express their concrete and abstract dimensions.

The Esoteric Journey of Mūsā (AS) in the Mirror of al-Asfār al-Arbaʿa: An Anfusī Interpretation of the Qur’anic Narrative of Mūsā and Khidhr

This article, by emphasizing the esoteric (anfusī) interpretation and aligning the story of Mūsā and Khidhr with Mullā Ṣadrā’s al-Asfār al-arbaʿa, seeks to open a new horizon in the mystical understanding of this Qur’anic narrative. In this spiritual journey, Mūsā symbolizes the self (nafs) and Khidhr represents walāyah, and together they traverse a spiritual path that begins with detachment from the world and movement toward the Truth, culminating in sacred knowledge. The research method is descriptive, analytical, and comparative. First, the symbolic elements and events of the story are analyzed, and then they are aligned with the four mystical journeys. In the first journey (from creation to the Truth), Mūsā reaches unity after finding the perfect master and removing veils; in the second journey (with the Truth in the Truth), he attains divine perfection through annihilation in walāyah; in the third journey (from the Truth to creation), by witnessing Khidhr’s actions, he comprehends divine wisdom and returns with a renewed vision to guide his people; and in the fourth journey (with the Truth in creation), he perceives the manifestations of the Truth within the created world. The findings show that, from an esoteric perspective, the story of Mūsā and Khidhr-beyond being a historical narrative-functions as a model for mystical journeying that harmonizes with al-Asfār al-arbaʿa. This alignment not only deepens the understanding of Qur’anic teachings but also illuminates new dimensions of the human spiritual path toward divine perfection and ultimate truth. Thus, the present study contributes to a clearer understanding of spiritual development and its relationship with Islamic teachings.

From Khilāfah to ʿAhd: A Qur’anic Model of Conceptual Transformation

The Almighty God refers for the first time to the notion of khilāfah in Q 2:30 and to imāmah and the concept of ʿahd in Q 2:124. A transformative progression can be identified across Q 2:30–124: God characterizes the human being initially as “khalīfah,” then as “imām,” and ultimately associates this development with the term “ʿahd.” This ordering does not indicate chronological or spatial precedence; rather, it reflects ascending degrees of human existential and spiritual perfection. This study seeks to clarify the nature of this progression by examining classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries and by formulating a coherent model of the khilāfah-to-ʿahd transition. The research adopts a grounded-theory methodology and is applied in nature; the dataset consists of Q 2:30–124. Qualitative analysis and model extraction were carried out using Excel and MAXQDA. The core findings highlight two central points: first, that the concepts of khilāfah, imāmah, and ʿahd are presented in the Qur’an with precise linguistic and conceptual intentionality; and second, that the category of qawl serves as a fundamental analytical key for unpacking the proposed model. The significance of qawl becomes evident across several dialogues, including God’s address to Moses (ʿa), Moses’ exchanges with the Children of Israel, God’s discourse with the Jews and the angels, and finally, His speech with Adam (ʿa). The research identifies forty-two major thematic categories within this model, such as fidelity to the divine covenant, avoidance of hypocrisy and sectarian discord, reflection upon divine power, wisdom, and miracles, trust in God’s will and wisdom, patience and gratitude, and abstention from disbelief and disobedience.

Explaining Perceptual and Cognitive Disorders in Social Relations and Interactions Using the Qur’an: A Case Study in the Communicative Interface of Culture and Economy

The interaction and mutual influence between the concepts of economy and culture form a tangled and often confusing relationship that leads to conceptual overlap. The present study seeks to establish a principled equilibrium and a sound mode of interaction between cultural and economic systems by drawing on the Qur’an. Cognitive and perceptual sciences shape how societies understand issues, since the primary cause of perceptual and computational error lies in assigning improper weight to these concepts and in constructing unbalanced relations between them.Using a qualitative content analysis approach, this article examines the cultural–economic constellation within human life and social developments. Cognitive clarity and cognitive disorders-derived from Sūrat al-Nūr and formulated as sarābī disorder (mirage-like misperception) and lughajī disorder (obstinate distortion)-are analyzed alongside cultural–economic interactions based on Sūrat al-Zukhruf, with emphasis on foundational enabling structures such as qawm, qaryah, ābāʾ, and banāt. The findings propose a model of proper cultural-economic interaction in which perceptual disorders-whether sarābī or lughajī-disrupt the balance between cultural and economic variables and produce cognitively flawed decision-making. In response, the concepts of “water-weight” (thaqal ābī) and “light-weight” (thaqal nūrī) are introduced as fundamental principles for restoring cognitive transparency and recalibrating the correct relational pattern between culture and economy.

An Examination of the Concept, Components, and Implications of Innate Human Dignity from the Perspective of the Qur’an, with a Comparative Assessment of Humanism

This study examines the Qur’anic perspective on the concept of innate human dignity (karāmah dhātiyyah), its essential components, and its practical implications, and then compares and evaluates it in relation to the humanist worldview. Employing a comparative approach and using library-based research and a descriptive–analytical method, the article demonstrates that the Qur’an grounds human dignity in several key elements: human reason and spirit, free will and volition, the bearing of the divine trust (amānah), and the innate primordial disposition (fiṭrah). The Qur’anic verses further indicate that the implications of such dignity include: endowment with khilāfah (vicegerency), the capacity for learning the Divine Names, worthiness of being the object of angelic prostration, the subjugation of the natural world to human benefit, the right to life, the right to freedom, entitlement to just social privileges, the obligation to protect personal reputation, and the prohibition of insulting or degrading any human being. While both the Qur’an and humanism affirm the principle of intrinsic human dignity, they differ significantly on several foundational issues: the scope and limits of innate dignity and human freedom; the rejection of absolute anthropocentrism; the primacy of the spiritual dimension in grounding dignity; the insufficiency of unaided reason in identifying the path to true human felicity; the absence of discrimination among human beings; and the Qur’an’s description of supra-animal pleasures and dignified modes of existence. These points represent major areas of divergence between the Qur’anic conception of human dignity and that of humanism.

In the Qur’an, the People of the Book are addressed through several expressions-alladhīna ūtū al-kitāb, Ahl al-Kitāb, and alladhīna ātaynāhum al-kitāb. Identifying the semantic distinctions among these terms, which may appear synonymous at first glance, constitutes the main question of this study. Using a descriptive-analytical method, and examining the semantic components and chronological usage of the expressions across Makkan and Madinan revelation, the study analyzes their nuanced differences. The findings indicate that alladhīna ātaynāhum al-kitāb refers to an elevated group of learned members of the People of the Book-primarily present in Makkah-who affirmed the prophethood of Muḥammad (ṣ) and believed in the Qur’an. In contrast, alladhīna ūtū al-kitāb, occurring predominantly in Madinan verses, designates a group of corrupt scholars and elites who, despite knowing the truth of Islam, concealed it. This is supported by their frequent association with terms such as knowledge, recognition, covenant, clear proof, and concealment. Ahl al-Kitāb, meanwhile, encompasses both groups in addition to the general population of the People of the Book-believers and disbelievers alike-who, according to the Qur’an, followed their religious authorities. This group also appears extensively in Madinan contexts.

Basics, limits and Quranic examples of maintaining physical privacy

Despite the expansion of studies on privacy in legal and ethical literature, the concept of "bodily privacy" in a Qur'anic framework and with an analytical approach has remained abandoned. Most of the researches have either addressed the jurisprudential and legal aspects of this concept or defined it only in the biological and material field, while the Holy Quran has a deeper, multi-layered and valuable approach to the human body.Based on this, the main problem of the current research is to explain the concept of bodily privacy from the perspective of the Qur'an, focusing on its triple foundations. The research method is descriptive-analytical, and the data have been collected and analyzed by referring to interpretive, narrative sources and Islamic studies in ethics. The findings show that bodily privacy in the Qur'an can be analyzed based on three categories of bases: (1) Ontological foundations that emphasize God's absolute ownership of the body and man's conditional agency in possessing it; (2) anthropological foundations that introduce the body as a container for the emergence of human reason, will and dignity; (3) Ethical foundations that support concepts such as chastity, respect for harm, individual responsibility and behavioral justice. In sum, bodily privacy in the Qur'anic discourse is considered not just an individual right, but a part of the system of human slavery and the moral structure of Islamic society.

Explaining the Precedence of the Destruction of a "Qaryah" over "Ba’s" in the Fourth Verse of Surah Al-A‘raf: The Transition from False Civilizations to the Era of ReappearanceAbstract

Based on the fourth verse of Surah Al-A‘raf, divine Ba’s is sent down after the destruction of a Qaryah. Consequently, commentators have sought to explain the causal relationship between these two concepts, presenting various perspectives. This study, employing the tafsir al-Qur'an bil-Qur'an method and integrating it with the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), redefines the concept of Qaryah in the Qur'an and explores the relationship between its destruction and divine Ba’s. The findings indicate that Qaryah in the Qur'an refers to a structured system with a distinct ideology that claims to ensure human prosperity. Given that destruction (halāk) signifies the dissolution of an entity’s fundamental and defining characteristics, the destruction of a Qaryah denotes the collapse of its ideological claim. Furthermore, based on narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), divine Ba’s refers to the uprising of Imam al-Mahdi (AJ), which necessarily occurs after all political and cultural factions have lost their credibility. Accordingly, the fourth verse of Surah Al-A‘raf signifies the emergence of the Era of Reappearance following the discrediting of the false front that claims to secure human prosperity. Thus, the precedence of the destruction of a Qaryah over the descent of divine Ba’s is an inevitable necessity.

The concept of *Neshat* (vitality/joy) has inner, behavioral, and social dimensions and is associated with concepts such as satisfaction, hope, smiling, and mental and social well-being. From a Quranic perspective, *Neshat* is an inner state of happiness, heartfelt assurance, and spiritual contentment that arises from a connection with God, faith, gratitude for blessings, righteous deeds, and hope in divine reward. This study aimed to explain the concept of *Neshat* based on a content analysis of related themes in the verses of the Holy Quran. The research method employed was content analysis. Data collection tools were listed, and Quranic software was used to extract relevant verses. The analysis revealed that the causes or contexts of *Neshat* are significant and can have both positive and negative aspects. Broadly, *Neshat* can be categorized into two types: *praiseworthy* (*mamdūḥ*) and *blameworthy* (*madhmūm*). Praiseworthy *Neshat* (commended in the Quran) includes *faith-based and divine joy*, linked to monotheistic values, spirituality, gratitude, and piety, ultimately leading to divine satisfaction and eternal bliss in the hereafter. Blameworthy *Neshat* (condemned in the Quran) includes *non-faith-based joy*, associated with worldly wealth, material pursuits, and illicit pleasures, ultimately leading to downfall and divine punishment in the hereafter.

The Historical Development of the Interpretation of 'Sāq Allah' in the Views of Classical and Contemporary Exegetes

The interpretation of Qur’anic verses that appear to attribute corporeal features to God has long been among the most challenging exegetical issues. One notable example is: “On the Day when the shin shall be uncovered and they will be called to prostrate, but they will not be able” (Q 68:42). The term sāq in this verse has been the subject of extensive debate and diverse interpretations. Employing a descriptive–analytical approach and library-based sources, this study explores the semantic evolution of the expression in both Sunni and Shi‘i exegesis across the early and modern periods. It addresses three main questions: What meanings of sāq were proposed in each period? Which factors contributed to the emergence of new readings in modern times? And can these transformations be explained through the Mann–Kendall statistical test?. Findings show that in the early period, affirmatory and eschatological readings predominated. In contrast, the modern era, influenced by growing intellectual and social needs, witnessed a wider range of allegorical interpretations, including notions such as “essence and reality,” “divine light,” and even “the human shin.” In Shi‘i exegesis particularly, theological, philosophical, and social contexts played a decisive role in shaping such meanings. Furthermore, modern exegetes sought to connect revelatory concepts with contemporary human concerns by employing rational, scientific, and thematic approaches. Finally, the Mann–Kendall test was applied to assess historical trends. Results revealed no statistically significant pattern across the periods, which may be due to discursive fluctuations, cyclical returns to traditional views, and the availability of sources.

Analyzing the connection between the psychological miracles of the Quran and the moral education of teachers

One of the key topics in Quranic studies that has attracted significant scholarly attention is the miraculous nature of the Quran (I'jaz), which encompasses various dimensions, including literary, rhetorical, scientific, ethical, mathematical, social, and psychological aspects. In modern times, the psychological dimension has gained prominence due to its practical relevance. Psychological I'jaz refers to the selection of the most effective teachings to guide humanity, considering the hidden and complex aspects of the human soul. Psychological principles have always directly influenced moral development, with an undeniable connection between the two, playing a vital role in human guidance and salvation. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, this study explores the potential of this form of I'jaz in moral education, concluding that the Quran, with its profound understanding of the human psyche—beyond conventional knowledge—employs psychological principles to convey guidance in the most dynamic and enduring manner, instilling sound beliefs in learners. For moral education based on the Quran’s psychological I'jaz, three levels must be considered: "macro explanation," "extraction and interpretation," and "implementation." To link psychological I'jaz with moral education, the following approaches can be emphasized: gentle negation, systematic correction, institutionalization and reinforcement, and repetitive psychological conditioning.

-AbstractInvestigating the issue of gender from a civilizational perspective is one of the new approaches in Quranic studies. Men and women, as fundamental elements of Islamic civilization, have a position based on their common human nature in social responsibilities, and at the same time, they play distinct roles. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method, deals with a civilizational explanation of the issue of gender from the perspective of the contemporary commentator Allamah Muhammad Hussein Fazlullah and seeks to answer the question of what is Allamah Fazlullah's civilizational understanding of the issue of gender in the interpretation of Quranic verses and at what horizon can it be explained and described? The findings of the study show that a civilizational rereading of the verses and interpretative traditions can lead to a better understanding of the position of gender in Islamic civilization. Allama Fazlullah, while providing a social and educational interpretation, has expressed precise civilizational readings on the issue of gender and has placed great emphasis on the civilizational principles of dignity, justice-centeredness, and responsibility in the family institution. Keywords: civilization, gender, Allama Fazlullah, responsibility, justice-centeredness.

Many commentators, in response to the opposition's claim about the possibility of the Prophet learning knowledge from the People of the Book in Mecca, try to deny the presence of this minority in the first years of the Prophet's life in Mecca. When faced with Meccan verses that refer to people of the book, this group considers the revelation of these verses to be discrete, ignoring numerous historical and Qur'anic evidences, and introduces them as Madani. Their most important argument is the impossibility of the presence of the People of the Book in Mecca and as a result the verses were separated from the context of the Surah and their late revelation. This is because the findings of the present research, relying on historical, narrative, Qur'anic and commentary documents, prove the presence of Jewish and Christian people of the book during the Prophet's presence in Mecca. Keywords: People of the Book, Meccan period, Meccan, Christian, Jewish

The present study aims to investigate and analyze the scientific components of civilization in the Shiite government with an emphasis on the verses of the Holy Quran using a descriptive-analytical method and a library study. The main question of the present study is based on the following: What are the scientific components of civilization in the Shiite government with an emphasis on the verses of the Holy Quran? The findings showed that six scientific components of civilization in the Shiite government can be extracted with an emphasis on the verses of the Holy Quran, which include human dignity, rationality, monotheistic attitude, justice, knowledge acquisition, individual and collective hygiene. They are in the next levels of the Shiite civilization components, which have been considered with the inspiration of the Quran and the words of the infallibles. Considering the verses of the Holy Quran, it can be concluded that these components are the most fundamental components of civilization that God presented to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through the language of the Quran in order to pursue human happiness and that the Islamic government must follow them. Keywords:Scientific components, Shiite civilization, Islamic government

The development of individual talents is one of the most key pillars of the scientific, cultural and social development of any society. Humans are faced with a unique set of abilities, interests and learning styles. Individual differences that have existed in humans since the beginning of creation require that educational approaches be flexible and appropriate to this diversity. In this regard, the role of the educator as a guide, facilitator and role model is of particular importance. The present article, with a Quranic approach, descriptive method and library study, examines this vital role in depth and comprehensively. The findings of the study indicate that the principle of differences in talents is accepted from the perspective of the Holy Quran, "God's will", "human individual effort", "divine test", "personality structure of individuals" and "God's different creation" are among the most important factors of such differences, and the role of the coach in the development of the trainee's talents from the perspective of the Holy Quran is: "explaining the path of guidance and error", "education based on divine revelation", "purifying the trainee from vices and creating virtues in his soul", "strengthening faith and the spirit of trust in God Almighty in the trainee's institution", "strengthening the spirit of patience and endurance of hardships in the trainee", "explaining the wisdom of affairs", and "paying attention to the comprehensive development of the trainee by using talents correctly".

Architecture and construction, as manifestations of human civilization, have long been of great importance to societies. In the Holy Quran, the most complete divine book, numerous references to concepts related to development, prosperity, and construction underscore the significance of this subject within Islamic culture and civilization. Each of these references establishes key principles for construction based on Islamic and divine values in the design and implementation of structures. The Quran emphasizes the development of the earth as one of humanity’s missions, presenting human beings as stewards responsible for the improvement and restoration of the land. Additionally, it highlights historical structures such as the palaces of the people of 'Ād, Pharaoh’s tower, and the dam of Dhul-Qarnayn, illustrating the role of architecture in civilizations while urging reflection on the fate of past nations. Furthermore, the Quran sets forth ethical guidelines for construction, including divine intention, avoidance of extravagance, justice, and environmental balance. This paper, drawing from Quranic verses, analyzes the concept of development, architectural examples from past civilizations, and the divine perspective on construction and prosperity. The aim is to demonstrate that the Quran not only provides historical insights into former civilizations but also portrays development as a sacred and responsible duty for humanity. By employing a conceptual-thematic analysis of Quranic verses, this study examines the theoretical dimensions of construction within the Quran and discusses its applications in sustainable architecture and Islamic urban development. The findings indicate that spirituality and devotion take precedence over material and superficial concerns in the design

Theoretical model of the impact of geographical context and regional ecosystem in determining the miracle of the she-camel of Saleh (peace be upon him).

One of the miracles that has been emphasized several times in the Quran is the miracle of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) in bringing the camel out of the mountain. The main issue of this research is to answer this main question: Does the Holy Quran address the issue of the influence of geography in determining the type of divine miracle (the camel)? The method of this research is a qualitative approach of grounded theory. Using the data available in the verses and reports mentioned in the works of geographers from this region, three central categories can be reached from at least thirty data obtained, which indicate that the geographical characteristics of the Hajar region are related to the miracle of the camel because Hajar is a mountainous region and the people of this region had high skills in stone carving, in addition to the fact that the camel was of great importance among the people of this region. The central phenomenon, by providing the necessary context, creates good consequences for understanding the selection of the type of camel miracle in accordance with human geographical factors, and of course, it causes the revelation of the deep connection between the miracles of the prophets and the environmental conditions of the day and proves the transcendence of time of the Holy Quran.

The criterion of individual and community religiosity based on Quranic culture and Islamic traditions

in numerous verses and narrations, the characteristics of religious people are stated under various titles. Numerous studies and writings have also been written in the field of religiousness criteria, where researchers have focused on collecting the characteristics of religious people. By studying the writings, it is found that the principle, basis, and criteria of religiousness have been neglected or have not been considered correctly and accurately. The main issue of the present study, citing Quranic verses and interpretations based on this holy book, is to explain the real meaning of religious people based on Quranic verses and narrations in a descriptive-analytical manner. The research approach of the article is that what is considered a pillar of religiousness is accepting the guardianship of the divine guardian after confessing monotheism and accepting prophethood. If this is important, the category of testing and examination becomes meaningful, but without it, there is no qualification at all to enter the divine test and to advance in rank. In this article, an attempt has been made to examine the aforementioned criterion and its place in the religiosity of an individual and society.

A cultural anthropological study of the changing image of "forbidden food" in the Quran

The concepts of forbidden and halal among the pre-Islamic Arabs were based on superstitious traditions; therefore, Islam created a transformation of the concept of food based on concepts such as forbiddenness. The present study aims to examine the change in the concept of food using a descriptive-analytical method and from the perspective of cultural anthropology studies, and while explaining the criteria for forbidden food among the pre-Islamic Arabs, it also examines the criteria that the Quran has presented for being forbidden. The results of the study indicate that the components of being forbidden among the Arabs were false beliefs and superstitions, and the Quran, using tools such as jurisprudence, promises, and reprimands, presented new criteria for being forbidden, which included physical, spiritual, and cultural criteria. These criteria can also be generalized to the present era because they can create the possibility of decision-making in dealing with other cultures and even lead to the presentation of rulings and macro-social and economic decisions.

An analysis of the structural and meaning-making functions of Quranic data in contemporary fiction (study of the works of Sadegh Hedayat, Jalal Al-Ahmad, and Reza Amirkhani)

Contemporary Persian fiction, as a newly emerging literary form in both structure and content, differs significantly from traditional and classical literature. One of the most notable distinctions can be observed in the treatment of religious concepts and values. In certain works of modern fiction, religious principles are either marginalized or entirely neglected, and at times even subjected to criticism or opposition. Nevertheless, many other writings within this domain incorporate Qur’anic verses, meanings, and allusions that are deeply embedded within the artistic framework and even the technical structure of the narrative. This study, employing a descriptive–analytical method, examines the role of Qur’anic data within the artistic structure and semantic texture of contemporary fictional works. To achieve this, the works of three prominent authors—each representing distinct intellectual and ideological orientations—are analyzed as central examples. It may be concluded that the aesthetic interpretation and functional use of Qur’anic elements in contemporary fiction, despite certain intervals of decline, have followed a continuous and developmental trajectory. In the early phases of modern Persian storytelling, Qur’anic verses and concepts were presented in a direct and rather unrefined manner. However, in subsequent stages, numerous writers have engaged with the Qur’an in more intricate and creative ways, employing literary and narrative techniques to produce their own distinctive aesthetic and interpretive readings of the sacred text.

The Role of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) in Creating Culture and Civilization from the Perspective of the Holy Quran

This research examines the civilization-building and culture-creating role of Prophet Abraham (AS) as an "Imam" and a "Monotheistic Model". The aim is to explain his role in reconstructing religious identity and analyzing the civilizational dimensions of the Abrahamic character based on the verses of the Quran. The present research, using the method of qualitative content analysis of verses related to Abraham (AS) and using reliable interpretations and a comparative study of the capacity for modeling for the challenges of human society, attempts to answer the question of how Abrahamic civilization and culture can solve human cultural and social challenges? The key findings are his civilization-building characteristics, socio-cultural impacts, a model for solving contemporary challenges, social inequality, and cultural distortion. Abraham (AS) provided the foundations for the formation of a revealed civilization by combining "divine imamate" and "collective reasoning." This civilization has three basic pillars: spirituality, justice, and moral rationality. The result is that the Abrahamic character (AS) offers a strategic capacity for responding to the crises of human civilization within the framework of the Quran. This research shows that the Abrahamic character is a comprehensive model for confronting the crises facing human societies and rebuilding civilization based on revelation.

Criticism of the idea of the distortion of the Quran by Shiites in the book "The History of the Quran in the Twelver Period"

Abstract: The book “History of the Quran in the Age of the Twelver: A Critical Study” is a work by Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al-Dhamer, which he claims to have written based on historical research, while his approach is to accuse Shia in the field of Quranic sciences. The discussion of the distortion of the Quran is one of the chapters of the book in which the author, by severing the material quoted from Shia scholars and highlighting the severing statements, seeks to prove the doubts raised against Shia in the field of distortion of the Quran. The present article, using a descriptive-analytical method, while conceptualizing distortion and referring to the content of the discussion of distortion in the aforementioned book, has criticized Abdul Aziz Al-Dhamer’s incorrect views based on rational and narrated arguments using reliable Shia sources. The findings of the research indicate that Al-Dhamer’s claims are completely far from reality and are based solely on hatred and grudge against the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). This study also indicates the need for a scientific and fair approach to religious issues in order to prevent the spread of sedition and division, because works and theories that are based on falsehood and hatred only cause division among Muslims and have no scientific or citation value or status.
