Abstract
Surat al-Ahzab is a Medinan sura of the Quran that addresses a range of subjects, including scenes from one of the major conflicts between the Muslims and the polytheists: the Battle of the Confederates, also known as the Battle of the Trench. This study presents a psychological analysis of verses 9–26 of Surat al-Ahzab, with a focus on the Battle of the Trench, in order to identify the psychological components of crisis management and the Quranic strategies for reducing anxiety and strengthening resilience. Using thematic analysis, the study extracts such key concepts as anxiety, fear, reliance on God, patience, and collective cohesion. The findings indicate that these verses offer a comprehensive framework for managing psychological crises by strengthening faith, recalling divine assistance, and promoting social solidarity. These strategies can inform the design of religiously integrated psychological interventions for crisis situations. The results underscore the role of religious beliefs in reducing psychological strain and increasing psychological resilience, and suggest that these teachings can serve as a basis for educational and therapeutic programs. The study further emphasizes the need to integrate the psychology of religion with the behavioral sciences in order to achieve a fuller understanding of Quranic verses.
