Abstract
Abstract: The book “History of the Quran in the Age of the Twelver: A Critical Study” is a work by Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al-Dhamer, which he claims to have written based on historical research, while his approach is to accuse Shia in the field of Quranic sciences. The discussion of the distortion of the Quran is one of the chapters of the book in which the author, by severing the material quoted from Shia scholars and highlighting the severing statements, seeks to prove the doubts raised against Shia in the field of distortion of the Quran. The present article, using a descriptive-analytical method, while conceptualizing distortion and referring to the content of the discussion of distortion in the aforementioned book, has criticized Abdul Aziz Al-Dhamer’s incorrect views based on rational and narrated arguments using reliable Shia sources. The findings of the research indicate that Al-Dhamer’s claims are completely far from reality and are based solely on hatred and grudge against the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). This study also indicates the need for a scientific and fair approach to religious issues in order to prevent the spread of sedition and division, because works and theories that are based on falsehood and hatred only cause division among Muslims and have no scientific or citation value or status.
