Man and woman, as the fundamental elements of Islamic civilization, have a position in social responsibilities based on a common human nature, while simultaneously playing distinct roles. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method, provides a civilizational explanation of the issue of gender from the viewpoint of the contemporary exegete Sayyid Muḥammad Ḥusayn Faḍlullāh, and seeks to answer the question: What is Faḍlullāh's civilizational understanding of the issue of gender in the interpretation of Qurʾānic verses, and within what horizon can it be explained and described? The findings of the research show that a civilizational rereading of verses and exegetical traditions can lead to a better understanding of the position of gender in Islamic civilization. Faḍlullāh, while presenting a social and educational interpretation, has articulated precise civilizational readings of the issue of gender and has greatly emphasized the civilizational principles of conferring dignity, justice-centeredness, and responsibility within the institution of the family. بررسی مسئلۀ جنسیت از منظر تمدنی، یکی از رویکردهای نوین در مطالعات قرآنی است. زن و مرد به عنوان عناصر بنیادین تمدن اسلامی، در مسئولیت‌های اجتماعی جایگاهی مبتنی بر سرشت مشترک انسانی دارند و درعین‌حال نقش‌های متمایزی ایفا می‌کنند. پژوهش حاضر با روش توصیفی‌تحلیلی، به تبیین تمدنی از مسئلۀ جنسیت از دیدگاه مفسر معاصر سیدمحمدحسین فضل‌الله می‌پردازد و در جست‌وجوی پاسخ به این سؤال است که برداشت تمدنی فضل‌الله دربارۀ مسئلۀ جنسیت در تفسیر آیات قرآنی چیست و در چه افقی قابل تبیین و توصیف است؟ یافته‌های تحقیق نشان می‌دهد بازخوانی تمدنی آیات و سنت‌های تفسیری می‌تواند به درک بهتری از جایگاه جنسیت در تمدن اسلامی منجر شود. فضل‌الله ضمن ارائۀ تفسیری اجتماعی و تربیتی، خوانش‌های تمدنی دقیقی دربارۀ مسئلۀ جنسیت بیان کرده و بر اصول تمدنی کرامت‌بخشی، عدالت‌محوری و مسئولیت‌پذیری در نهاد خانواده تأکید فراوانی داشته است. https://qcc.quran.ac.ir/article_232382_f0a165f5d2e9b0f38a35bedd092f68e7.pdf
